Lake Belt Supplemental
Environmental Impact Statement
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared a Supplemental
Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to evaluate proposals to fill Waters of the United States in association with limestone mining and related activities
in an area of Miami-Dade County known as the Lake Belt. This SEIS supplements the Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, Rockmining – Freshwater
Lakebelt Plan, Miami-Dade County, Florida published by the USACE in May 2000. We welcome your comments on this document.
The Lake Belt SEIS website has been developed to provide the public with access to key documents, announcements, background information, and a means for
submitting comments and requesting specific information.
